Dear Customers and Partners,
Businesses have a responsibility for all their impacts and for preventing any harms on enviromental-, health- and social areas.
Amstelburg Forest Hotel had lately a very unpleasant experience, when two of our customers were hospitalized by the symptoms of the food poisoning. Hotel has made quick response to locate and isolate source of the incident.
With a rapid and close co-operation between hotel employees and the specialists of the Amstelburg City Health Department was discovered, that a source of the poisoning was came from outside of the hotel, from the small private restaurant in our neighborhood. Sufferers of the poisoning had visited this restaurant last night and one of the dishes there was infected.
According to the doctors statement, there was no serious consequences for the patients. After first medical care they released from hospital and for now they are back in our hotel. Embassy of the country of origin of the tourists was reported about incident. Additional expences for medical care were compensated by the Amstelburg Forest Hotel.
Even the Amstelburg Forest Hotel was not responsible for this accident, still we took the situation very seriosly. This incident shows how easely accident can be happend, if the caterer shows the negligence on controlling of service quality or in supply procedure of raw materials.
Therefore Amstelburg Forest Hotel management has decided to implement additional, tougher measures to to continous improvement of the service quality in hotel. We agreed together with Healt Department about regular inspections of the quality of food and origin of raw materials in the future. Also we included into our integrated quality management system also ISO 22000 standard, dealing with food safety and HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points) principles.

ISO 9001 ,ISO 14001 and ISO 22000 certification audits were carried out in Amstelburg Forest Hotel from April 12nd till April 13th. The Management System of Amstelburg Forest Hotel has been audited and found to be in accordance with the requirements of the quality management system standard ISO 9001, enviromental management standard ISO 14001 andfood safety standard ISO 22000. Good results were verified with accordant certificates
The certification audit was the culmination of a great improvement process that has been ongoing for a few years where Amstelburg Forest Hotel has put a lot of time and effort into creating a tool to become a more efficient organization and to meet customers and stakeholders expectations for quality, environment and safety.
